Jesus Christ: Jesus Christ is God incarnate (John 1:1-18; 8:57-59), fully God and fully man; He was there in the beginning of creation and is infact the creator (Colossians 1:15-18). He was conceived and born of a virgin (Matt. 1:18-25). In other words, His conception was a supernatural miracle without sexual intercourse. He was perfectly sinless, offering himself as a substitute for the sins on the world (2 Corinthians 5:21; John 3:16). By His shed blood on the cross, He obtained for mankind eternal redemption, forgiveness of sins and eternal life for all who would believe (Romans 10:9-10; Col. 1:19). He died on the cross, was buried and then was raised from the dead in bodily form on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:1-8). He ascended to the right hand of the Father and now is ever interceding for us (Romans 8:34).
Salvation: Salvation is by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5-7) . In other words, it is a gift but must be received by faith. It can not be earned through ordinance, ritual, good works or any activity of man other than believing and receiving by faith.
God: We believe that God is one in three persons. While the word trinity is not found in the Bible it is certianly suitable for describing what is evident in scripture. Throughout the Bible, we find reference to God the Father, God the Holy Spirit and God the Son. (Genesis 1:1; 26; Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-18; 8:57-59; 10:30; Acts 5:3-4; Matthew 28: 19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Hebrews 9:14; Psalm 139:7).
We believe God has revealed Himself through both general and special revelation (Psalm 19:1-4; 7-11; Romans 1:18-21; Hebrews 1:1-4). General revelation says that God's existence, power, wisdom, majesty, righteousness and glory are manifest to all people, at all times, in all places therefore, it is generally available through the natural order, history, as well as the inner human conscience. Special revelation says that His more specific self disclosure comes through his redemptive actions, events and words. He has reveled himself in a special way to a special group of people, the covenant people of Israel, which set the stage for the most dramatic revelation that came in the incarnation of Jesus Christ through His life death and resurrection. Now we have both the Old and New Testament statements about this special revelation.
Holy Spirit: We believe the Holy Spirit is Not a force as in Star Wars, "may the force be with you," but He infact is a person who is God and not lesser in any way, but equal to God the Father and God the Son (Acts 5:3-4).
We believe that every believer receives the Holy Spirit at the moment of salvation (Ephesians 4:30; 2 Corinthians 1:27).
Jesus comanded the apostles to wait for a baptism of the Spirit which was a baptism of power (Acts 1:4-8). We believe in a baptism of the Holy Spirit and subsequent infillings. We believe that it is biblical to say that a Spirit baptism can take place at salvation or could take place some time afterward. Jesus gives a perfect example of being baptized in the Spirit immediatly following His water baptism (Luke 3:21-22). We find the disciples receiving the Holy Spirit before Jesus' ascention (John 20:22). We then find them receiving the baptism of power in Acts 2:1-4. Then we find them later in Acts 4:31 being filled with the Spirit again. We also find an example of a group of people receiving the Holy Spirit subsequent to salvation in Acts 8:4-19. It is also evident by Simon's reaction that there was a visible manifestation of the Holy Spirit upon those receiving (Acts 8:18-19).
We believe that the manifestation or gifts of the Holy Spirit are to be desired by each believer and have not ceased. God's desire is for a powerful chuch to arise that ministers in the power of the Holy Spirit testifying to the presence and power of the Kingdom with signs following.
The Bible: We believe that the Bible, the sixty six books of the old and new testament, is the word of God written as a God breathed revelation, is verbally inspired completely without error historically and scientifically, morally and spiritually in its original writings. (2 Timothy 3:16, 1 Samuel 15:29, Titus 1:2, Psalm 119, Psalm 12:6. Psalm 19:7, Proverbs 30:5, 2 Peter 1:20, John 10:30, John 17:17).
Humans: We believe that man is sinful and seperated from God and in need of the redemption that was provided by the substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. (Romans 3:23; 6:23; Isaiah 53:6).
The Church: We believe that the church is built upon the fact that Jesus is the Christ the Son of the living God (Matthew 16:18). We believe Christ loves His church and is preparing her to be a glorious, spotless bride (Ephesians 5:25,27).
Church Ordinances: We believe that water baptism and the Lord's Supper are the two ordinances of the Chruch to be observed until the time of Christ's return.
